• Prepare an abstract explaining the content and objectives of your session.
  If you are proposing a movement session, also list activities.
• Proposals will be blind-selected by a team of Laban Movement Analysts and Motif Description specialists. The criteria for selection are originality, clarity and topical relevance, with consideration given to the balance of the whole program.
• Presenters will be notified and confirmed on or before February 20, 2004.
• Limit your abstract to 450 words.
• Title your proposal concisely and descriptively.

Jimmyle Listenbee will present a paper comparing meaning and application of Ann Hutchinson Guest’s lexicon of dynamic symbols with that of Laban’s Effort system. This paper is intended to serve as a useful resource through highlighting overlaps and gaps in these two systems, with additional references to other sources of dynamics notation within the Laban field.

Conference Registration, Fees and Logistics:

  Presenters must register in advance for the conference and are responsible for their own conference fees, housing and transportation.
  Presenters receive a 25% reduction in the conference fee.
